LAVENDER SCENT IN THE ALTA LANGA: the room fragrance by Acqua delle Langhe inspired by lavender fields in Piedmont

“Do you have a lavender scent?”

How many times have we been asked this question by so many of our customers! As we know, the allure of pure and natural essences, especially in the summer months and particularly in June, is unrivaled, even in the world of home fragrances.

At Acqua delle Langhe, we always draw inspiration from nature and the wonderful UNESCO heritage territory of the Langhe, in Piedmont, to create our home fragrances.

To produce Langa Fiorita, one of the Acqua delle Langhe home fragrances that most evokes a fresh and clean scent, the focus is precisely on lavender essential oil.

A HOME FRAGRANCE THAT SMELLS LIKE LAUNDRY DRIED IN THE SUN

It is no coincidence that Langa Fiorita is the fragrance that often evokes the memory of fresh laundry, perhaps hung out to dry in the gardens of country houses…

The term lavender in fact derives from the verb lavare (to wash): this magnificent plant with its multiple properties was anciently used above all to scent the water used for bathing.

Still today, it is a well-known plant, especially for its use in soaps and detergents and as a linen freshener, and for us at Acqua delle Langhe, it represents the quintessential scent of yesteryear.

THE LAVENDER FIELDS IN THE LANGHE, IN PIEDMONT

When one thinks of lavender, Provence immediately comes to mind. But not everyone knows that Piedmont also harbors a small "Provence of Italy": Sale San Giovanni.

It is a small village in the Alta Langa surrounded by spectacular hills and heady scents.

Lavender has by now taken root in these places, given the plant's love for temperate climates, as it handles the sharp temperature fluctuations well – which are certainly not lacking at this time of year!

A few tips if you are planning to organize a weekend in the Alta Langa, in Piedmont, during the lavender blooming season:

  • Between the second half of June and the beginning of July, the small hillside village changes its appearance thanks to fields that are tinged with violet and blue hues, creating landscapes that have attracted an increasing number of visitors over the years.
  • Not just lavender: numerous medicinal plants find their place here, including hyssop, chamomile, yarrow, sage, coriander, and fennel, cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, which has been present in the territory for over twenty years on an area of about 25 hectares.

You will therefore be spoiled for choice when it comes to taking a dive into the incredibly fragrant and colorful hills of our territory!

AT-HOME COLOR THERAPY WITH LANGA FIORITA, THE ACQUA DELLE LANGHE HOME FRAGRANCE

As with all our home fragrances, the color of the Langa Fiorita fragrance has also been designed to instill a sensation in harmony with its ingredients and scents.

Because you choose with your eyes first, and then with your nose…

Langa Fiorita is a soft and delicate yellow, with some violet highlights, which lend a sense of refinement and positivity to your favorite space.

A HOME FRAGRANCE FOR A SUMMER HOUSE

With its top notes – Lavender, Petitgrain, Bergamot, Orange, Lemon – heart notes – Rose, Jasmine, Narcissus, Lily of the Valley – and base notes – Amber, Sandalwood, Rosewood, White Musk – Langa Fiorita remains one of the most quintessential summer home fragrances signed by Acqua delle Langhe.

Much loved and chosen by flower shops and charming villas in the Piedmontese territory, Langa Fiorita is a floral touch of times past for your home.
